Tácticas
Unlike its regular counterpart, the Militia, civilizations with access to the Champi Scout get one as their initial scouting unit. In this role, Champi Scouts are comparable to Eagle Scouts regarding their movement speed and Line of Sight, but unlike Militia or Eagle Scouts, the Champi Scout can build Outposts. Militarily speaking, the Champi Scout can be used for a Dark Age rush in a similar manner to the Militia, with some differences. A Champi Scout drush involves quickly training and sending a small band of Champi Scouts into the enemy base to harass, disrupt their economic activities, and often prevent early walling. Killing Villagers is not a priority. The player's scout is used to block fleeing low-hit-point Villagers for the Champi Scouts to try to kill them. Given the extremely poor town defensive capabilities of the Dark Age, this tactic is viable if the player can get the drop on their opponents. Enemy Villagers may still attack, though without Loom, they will still be felled very quickly by the player's Champi Scouts. However, caution is still advisable, as enemy Villagers with Loom may be able to defeat their aggressors if they manage to land the first strike or by garrisoning in the Town Center. Usually, the aim of a drush is to disrupt enemy walling and/or add extra time for the player to wall. In the first case, players should follow up their drush with fast Feudal Age and grab the Champi Runner upgrade, which helps kill Villagers, scouts, and walls faster. Champi Scouts are better than Militia against ranged attacks due to having one more pierce armor, better movement speed, and a sizeable Line of Sight, but generally perform worse against other melee units, as they have less hit points. Their gold cost and training time makes a little bit harder to perform a Champi Scout rush than a Militia rush. Each civilization with access to the Champi Scout has specialties that may make their use slightly different. === === Inca Champi Scouts cost 15% less food in the Dark Age, making them slightly easier to train. The Incas have a stone discount on the Outpost. === === The Mapuche Champi Scouts are the most generic in the Dark Age, as all bonuses that apply to the unit comes in later ages. === === Muisca Champi Scouts do not have any direct bonuses in the Dark Age, but they have Settlements that can heal 5 hit points per minute, and this helps the player to perform their drush, as their Champi Scouts can receive some damage and then retreat to the closest Settlement and heal. === === Tupi Champi Scouts return 15% of the resources invested on them, so if the drush fails and the player loses their Champi Scouts, the player will recover some of their investment.
Consejos
- Commander, the Champi Scout is the eyes and ears of your American empire from the very first moments of the game. This swift-footed warrior replaces the mounted Scout Cavalry for civilizations without access to horses. With 1.0 speed and 6 line of sight, the Champi Scout can explore the map efficiently in the Dark Age. Uniquely, he can construct Outposts, giving you early map vision and territorial control that other civilizations cannot match. His combat ability is minimal — 3 attack is enough to fend off wolves but not enemy military. Use him for scouting, not fighting. Upgrade to Champi Runner in the Feudal Age for improved combat capability.aoecoach
- Do NOT use for combat. 3 attack and 35 HP means any military unit will kill you. Your value is in scouting and Outpost placement. Losing your Champi Scout early cripples your information game.aoecoach
