The Elite Champi Warrior continues the trend of being a basic infantry similar to the Militia line, but with quirks and statistics similar to the Eagle Warrior line. The Elite Champi Warrior upgrade gives +10 hit points, +2 base attack, +1 attack against buildings, and armor. The value of researching the upgrade will depend on the circumstances of the late game, but if the opponent is focusing heavily on trash units or archers, this upgrade is a must-have. Elite Champi Warriors are comparable to Two-Handed Swordsmen in most regards, but their lower attack and melee armor makes them vulnerable against the latter, with the exception of Mapuche Elite Champi Warriors. All of them lose consistently against Champions. As such, Elite Champi Warriors must be supported by Slingers in order protect them against infantry. Elite Champi Warriors are the basic infantry units for South American civilizations in the Imperial Age. For the Muisca, Incas, and Tupi, it is the best unit for raiding, while the Mapuche have Elite Bolas Riders and Konas. They are weak against almost all heavy cavalry and most other infantry, and are also vulnerable to Monks, but good against all trash units, siege units, shock infantry and archers. Considering the South American civilizations' limited tech trees, this unit is used often, despite requiring three upgrades and having low hit points, since their value as a raiding unit that can counter siege units and most archers surpasses these drawbacks. Elite Champi Warriors are also the South Americans' answer to shock infantry or units with low melee armor, such as Gothic Huskarls. Elite Champi Warriors should be supported by Slingers for countering enemy Monks and infantry, Pikemen for countering cavalry, and Skirmishers or Mangonels against archers. Each civilization with access to the Elite Champi Warrior has specialties that make their use slightly different: === === Inca Elite Champi Warriors cost 30% less food in the Castle Age, making them easier to train. The Incas have a stone discount on the Outpost. Incan Elite Champi Warriors pair well with Kamayuks that can counter heavy cavalry, while the Elite Champi Warrior can deal with siege units and archers, two important weaknesses of the Kamayuk. Fabric Shields gives them +1/+1 armor making them a bit better against melee attacks and incredibly effective against archers, Scorpions, towers, and Castles. === === Mapuche Elite Champi Warriors have +15 hit points, putting them even above the hit points of a generic Champion. However, they lack Squires, making them the slowest Champi Warriors of all. Mapuche Champi Warriors can still be used for raiding, and in many circumstances they can be combined with Mapuche cavalry, but it is preferable to use them more as a traditional "basic infantry" that can counter the trash units of opponents. Mapuche Elite Champi Warriors are the most similar in use to Champions. They can defeat generic Two-Handed Swordsmen, but will lose against generic Champions. Nonetheless, the latter will be severely injured, with just 4 hit points left. === === Muisca Elite Champi Warriors have +3 melee armor in the Imperial Age, but lack Arson and Blast Furnace. This makes them better against other melee units in general, but less effective against buildings. Instead, the role of an anti-building infantry is filled by the Temple Guard. Their additional armor surpasses the base armor of a generic Champion. However, as they lack Blast Furnace, they lose even against Two-Handed Swordsmen. They have Settlements that can heal 15 hit points per minute in the Castle Age, and this helps the player to perform raids, as their Elite Champi Warriors can receive some damage and then retreat to the closest Settlement and heal. Elite Champi Warriors make a good complement to both Guecha Warriors, which can counter archers, Temple Guards, which counter cavalry and are excellent against buildings because of their ability, and Slingers which counter infantry. Herbalism improves their movement speed, making them the best raiders of all Elite Champi Warriors, able to force fights and then retreat more effectively. Among all Elite Champi Warriors, those of the Muisca are arguably the most similar to Eagle Warriors. === === Tupi Elite Champi Warriors return 15% of the resources invested in them, so if the raid fails and the player loses their Elite Champi Warriors, the loss will be partially mitigated. With their technology Caciques that increases their attack speed, they became a hard counter to siege units - something the Tupi army needs, as they rely on large masses of archers that struggle against units such as Mangonels. It also somewhat makes up for the lack of Blast Furnace. Upgrading the Champi line cost 50% less food, so the player can begin producing Elite Champi Warriors more easily.

Consejos

  • Commander, the Elite Champi Warrior is the pinnacle of the American infantry tradition. With 65 HP, 11 attack, 4 pierce armor and a +3 bonus against siege, this warrior is a fast raider for American civilizations. At 1.1 speed, the Elite Champi Warrior can chase down fleeing archers, dive behind enemy lines to snipe siege weapons, and serve as a mobile counter to ranged compositions. In Imperial Age trash wars, their low gold cost of 25 makes them extremely sustainable. A full army of Elite Champi Warriors supported by Halberdiers or unique units creates an unstoppable anti-ranged force that dismantles conventional archer-siege compositions.aoecoach
  • Still weak to Champions (+8 bonus from Infantry counter) and Cataphracts (+12 bonus). Heavy cavalry also trades favorably. Stick to your role: kill archers and siege, not melee units.aoecoach
