Tácticas
Its two-handed sweeping attack deals equal damage to all targets in front of it, making it highly effective against dense formations of melee units. This Area of Effect damage works very similar to the Ghulam's, but it deals 100% damage in a conical shape instead of 50% damage in a straight line. The Ibirapema Warrior can be seen as the melee frontline unit of the Tupi, with rather high hit points for an infantry unit and an area attack, but with a higher gold cost than other similar infantry units, which makes them harder to mass in the late game. However, their low food cost is an advantage in the Castle Age and the Elite upgrade costs 50% less food, allowing them to be upgraded quickly in the early Imperial Age. Finally, they return 15% of their cost when killed, effectively being a cost-effective unit in most cases. Thanks to their high durability and frontward area damage, Ibirapema Warriors are very effective when facing groups of other infantry units, defeating the Militia line and low-melee-armored unique infantry units, such as the Huskarl, Ghulam, Shotel Warrior, and Karambit Warrior, in mass battles by a sizeable margin, and performing well against groups of low-armored cavalry in front of them. However, their damage against buildings is lower in comparison to other infantry, and their low pierce armor makes ranged units especially effective against them, although their blast radius can cause considerable damage if they manage to close the distance. In addition, many infantry unique units like the Teutonic Knight, Samurai, Jaguar Warrior, Obuch, Urumi Swordsman, Legionary, and Liao Dao still beat them cost-effectively, with all of them having a lower gold cost. Cataphracts (especially with Logistica), and both War and Battle Elephants are even more effective against them. Fortunately, all of these drawbacks can be covered by Tupi Champi Warriors with Caciques, and foot archers with Curare.
Consejos
- Commander, the Ibirapema Warrior is the Tupi's answer to massed formations. Armed with the legendary ibirapema — a flat-edged war club carved from ironwood — this heavy infantry unit delivers crushing blows that damage all enemies in a small radius. Against tightly packed infantry, trash units, or clumped archers, the Ibirapema Warrior becomes a walking massacre. Their area damage means that even small groups can trade efficiently against much larger armies. However, they are slow and vulnerable to kiting. Pair them with Blackwood Archers for ranged support and use terrain chokepoints to maximize their splash damage.aoecoach
- At 1.0 speed, you are barely quicker than a Champion (0.96). Ranged units can kite you endlessly on open maps. Never chase — let the enemy come to you or use map features to close distance.aoecoach
