Tácticas
The Turtle Ship resembles a Cannon Galleon as a gunpowder siege ship. However, the range, minimum range, and durability differences of the two differentiate the two units concerning their role. The Cannon Galleon is an anti-building unit that loses easily to any other naval unit, whereas the Turtle Ship is a heavily armored ship that excels against other warships. The Turtle Ship has no minimum range, and its rocket attacks counteract enemy micro which may be able to dodge its cannonballs. Both attack types are unaffected by Ballistics. Turtle Ships are very heavily armored, with the non-elite Turtle Ship possessing +8 defense against anti-ship attack bonuses that other ships and towers typically deal against ships. The Elite Turtle Ship even has +11 defense against anti-ship attack bonuses, making it especially formidable. This bonus defense nullifies all the bonus attack that ships (War Galleys, Fire Ships), and towers without Heated Shot deal against ships. As a result, Galleons and Fast Fire Ships take around five times longer to kill Turtle Ships than Galleons. Turtle Ship damage output is nearly twice that of the Galleon against other Galleons, and five times better against Fast Fire Ships. The Turtle Ship's main weaknesses are its short range (though still better than Fire Ships) and slow speed. Galleons can hit-and-run, Demolition Ships can outmaneuver them (especially with the large hitboxes of Turtle Ships), and Fire Ships can deal heavy amounts of damage. Their cost is also a drawback, costing twice as much wood and six times as much gold as the Galleon. The best choice against Turtle Ships is to mass Fast Fire Ships, since they are cheaper and faster while dealing comparable damage. The Koreans also lack the Demolition Ship line entirely, so they lack a hard counter to Fire Ships. Bombard Cannons and Monks from inland are also good choices against Turtle Ships. Demolition Ships can also deal a lot of damage to massed Turtle Ships, but are not a suitable counter in large numbers. Ironically, Carracks will also beat Turtle Ships with equal resources. The player must not fall into the trap of creating only Turtle Ships, as that can prove to be a costly mistake. To use them properly, Turtle Ships must be paired with other ships, mainly Galleons, which have a long range and hinder the enemy's hit-and-run tactics. The role of the Turtle Ship in the navy is to soak up a lot of damage while dealing a considerable amount of damage to enemy vessels. Therefore, they should be used in the middle line, with either Fast Fire Ships or Carracks in front. === Comparison with other warships === Since all units benefit from different technologies, the comparison is uneven. { line line line Cost Creation time 27* Reload time 0.25 Other properties Has a blast attack of 100% effect in 0.5 tiles for cannons and 0.3 tiles for rockets Projectiles track moving targets naturally Research costand time 50 seconds 50 seconds Hit points Attack 7 pierce+5 vs long-range warships melee 3 melee+1 vs long-range warships Other attack bonuses +6 vs buildings+3 vs rams +7 vs buildings+7 vs Castles+6 vs walls+2 vs siege weapons +2 vs buildings ArmorMelee/Pierce 0/4 2/7 2/4 Movement speed 1.36 1.47 Range 2.5 Research costand time 65 seconds 65 seconds 65 seconds Hit points Attack 9 pierce+9 vs long-range warships melee 4 melee+1 vs long-range warships Other attack bonuses +6 vs buildings+3 vs rams +7 vs buildings+7 vs Castles+6 vs walls+3 vs siege weapons +3 vs buildings ArmorMelee/Pierce 0/6 3/12 3/7 Movement speed 1.36 1.56 Range 2.5 } :* for War Galley and Galleon
Consejos
- The Turtle Ship is the Korean unique naval unit. It has only 6 range and 9 attack, and its bonuses target buildings, siege weapons and walls — not ships. Extremely tanky with 275 HP and 2/7 armor. Weak to Fire Ships due to slow speed (0.9). Best used to break enemy Galley masses but requires escort against Fire Ships.aoecoach
- Fire Ships are your nemesis. 1.0 speed means you can't escape. Fire Ships at 1.47 speed will catch and kill you. Never fight without Galley escort.aoecoach
