Tácticas
Demolition Rafts are the fastest military vessels in the Feudal Age and can chase down enemy ships easily. Their low hit points and armor, however, make them vulnerable to any kind of attack. They are best used against groups of Galleys, Fire Galleys, or to quickly destroy enemy Docks (although this is not cost effective). Like the other members of the Demolition Raft line, they can make great use of the ability to garrison in Docks when created. This is because this tactic allows them to suddenly rush out or mass up, while the enemy cannot react in time and enemy units cannot make good use of their range. This tactic requires foresight of when the enemy will likely put their units close to the Dock to make the best use of. Demolition Rafts are best used as a complementary unit, rather than the basis of a naval force. This is because they can deal a lot of damage to groups bigger than their numbers, but come at the cost of destroying themselves in the process. A strategy based around them is therefore poor, as they will neutralize themselves winning an engagement, leaving no units to benefit from the water control gained. When used with other units, the Demolition Rafts can deal heavy damage and let the other units finish off the weakened ships. Due to the absence of strong and long-ranged land units, Demolition Rafts are very effective when used against them in shallows. === Value analysis against Feudal Age units === { Cost Percentage of hit points damaged 100% 100% 100% 100% 100% Target deaths to break-even Extra value after break-even trade } The above table demonstrates how valuable Demolition Rafts can be in certain situations. They only ever need to hit two units to break even in value, especially as gold is usually not close to running out in the Feudal Age. Thus, players can use them in the worst-case scenarios and not be at risk of falling behind in value trades. When killing Villagers, the value is much higher than the cost of the Villagers, as Villagers are bottlenecked by production speed.
Consejos
- Keep them away from galleys and ranged warships that can easily snipe them before impact.ageofnotes
- They are excellent at taking out grouped fire galleys in the early game.ageofnotes
- Use them in narrow straits where enemy ships cannot easily dodge the explosion.ageofnotes
- They cost a significant amount of resources so do not waste them on single cheap targets.ageofnotes
- Always mix them with your own galleys to force the opponent to split their target fire.ageofnotes
- The Demolition Raft is a suicide unit. It explodes dealing 90 damage in an area - enough to severely damage or kill Feudal ships. Use them to break enemy naval masses or snipe key targets. They're cheap and expendable. Sacrifice them to win crucial water fights.aoecoach
- Galleys outrange and outkite you. Smart players will focus fire your Demo Rafts before they arrive. Send in groups with Galley escort.aoecoach
